Boston Passport Agency

Let me tell you that 5:30 comes WAY to quick and we still should have gotten up earlier because you know how bad Boston traffic is in the morning. Everyone traveling south to work. The passport agency only hold your appointment for 15 minutes. So are freaking out because traffic is CRAWLING and we are about to miss our appointment. While DJ is driving I'm making phone calls to try to rearrange the scheduled appointment. We pull into the North Station parking garage at 8:40. We bolt out of the garage in search for this build which we have no idea where it is or what it looks like. Thankfully the Homeland Security gave the building away.

Security, that's what we found at the door and a long line. It looked like an airport. Here we are running late for this appointment and the lady in front of us in going through the metal detector 30 times. Once with her self, then with the baby, then just the stroller, and on and on. We come out of the metal detector and sprint up to the top of the two story stairs and find a big open floor. Two security guards are watching us as we cross the open space heading for an office that has a big picture of a passport. Then, a guard speaks loudly with his right hand positioned on his gun... " Can I help you..." He quickly points us to a section that he was forming a line in using the line control devices you see at the movie theater. Then processed to tell everyone the process from here on out.

"Good morning everyone. I'm going to be sending people in 5 to 10 at a time through those glass doors. once inside there is no food or drink allowed. Also, no cell phones can be used. You MUST have the following items with you or you will be turned away. Your confirmation number, certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state, valid identification, TWO passport photos, and your trip itinerary. When you walk in through the glass door you will go to the first window. She will verify your documents before giving your number. Once your number is called you will be working with a passport agent face to face. that agent alone will issue your passport and determine when it will be done. if your leave tomorrow you can probably plan on picking up your passport today."

At this point DJ looks at me and drops a bomb. " Dude i forgot the itinerary." I could have killed him right the on the spot. I'm searching around for some sign of a computer lab or hope in general. I have all of our flight information in my email i just need a computer to print it out. While I'm sitting there scheming how I'm going to get the itinerary we are debating if we should get out of line. just before we walk trough the door we ask the guard. He's tells us some good news " Go in anyways and she will give you a pass to come back so that you don't loose your appointment.

Now we are out wondering Boston to fun some hope of a computer lab for a internet cafe... ANYTHING! after wondering around for about 30 minute we walk past a hotel. I can believe i got up the will but i walked in and asked the girl behind the counter if there was a computer we could use to print out an e-mail. I was shocked when she threw the PC onto of the counter and said "sure". I could have kissed her.. not cause she was hot, but because she just saved the day!

Back to the window one after going back through security. This time we get to cut the lines and go strait to the front to what she called her homework line. The lady was REALLY nice. She made the trip and kept us smiling! it was a nice surprise. When we got called up to the passport agent it happened to be a lady our age. The next thing me know we are talking about going to India and she's telling us about her trip to India. She went to Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur! We really hit it off. I think that's the only reason she let us get the passport the same day. The second hottie to save the day. If only there wasn't 2 inch bullet proof glass between her and I, she'd get a kiss too. J/K :)

धन्यवाद.

Another Passport

Well now that DJ is going we have to get him a passport and a visa in less than three weeks. You thought i was stressed about getting my passport and visa in 6, well now i get to do it all over again. We made an appointment for Tuesday morning at 8:30 at the Boston passport agency. I agreed to go with DJ. I guess he really didn't need me to go but i felt more comfortable being involved in the process. I hope everything goes well because we booked our non refundable tickets. To be able to have an appointment you need to have your plane itinerary with you.

The Awnser.

Well I was looking for someone with a passport because with 3 weeks to go there is no time to get a passport AND a Visa by going through the normal process. That not Exactly what I got but i'm very excited to say that DJ is coming with me! It was surprisingly a easy sell.. so easy he sold it to himself! I called Amit and Sunitha and everything is all set with my arrangements in India to accommodate him!

The Question

Over the last week everything is changing so rapidly that i can barley keep things straight in my head. I have everyone at work telling me that i should be doing something different. Especially now that Ryan Horne has backed out. Ryan just got back from Colorado with his girlfriend where he has been for 3 weeks. He can't afford anymore time off so he's going to fly over on Thursday. Kinda of a waste to fly that far for such a short period of time!

Much to the dismay of everyone at work, I still want to stick with my plan to go to Delhi first and visit Agra and Jaipur. They felt more comfortable with me having company while i was there which i understand completely! I would as well obviously but we are going so close to the date and things are getting harder and harder to change. Sunitha's already got arrangements made for me with a family member in Delhi. So now I'm racking my brain... Who's got a passport that can come with me?

Getting Positive...

I got my car back today after having it in the shop since Friday for an inspection and repairs to pass. It was still expensive task but it was cheaper that original estimated! Still hurts my Spending money for India but makes me happier at least.

I have been getting more and more concerned that i can't track my Passport application on the government website. They say that it should be available for tracking after 5-7 days but it's been 14! So i complete ignored all the recorded messages asking me NOT to call unless i was traveling in the next 10 to 14 days and called anyways! To my surprise i got right though to an agent and she pulled it right up tell me it's already be sent on the 6th! Sure enough i had the first of 2 evolpoes in my mail box when i got home! I'm guessing to protect you from identity theift they send your birth certificate and other original documents in one package and the passport book in another.

Next, set is to fill out a simular application to the passport application for an Indian Visa. This application cost even more money as you can imagine! I believe it's another $80 and can't be completed till you have your passport to send them and two more passport pictures.

If it wasn't like i owed my friends before, I really do know. In light of the recent expenses that have popped up, I think it's safe to say they have saved my trip! I hope they realize how much this means to me.

Depressed Today...

Today is a downer compared to the last few. It feels like everything is mounting up to ruin my trip. As I sit here in the cold because I'm out of oil wounding how I'm coming up with the 400 dollars for the minimum fill when i get a call from the garage that my car needs 500+ work done to pass inspection. I need new tie rods for the car, front end alignment, and two new tires. To top it all off off i got a phone call from my mother that my grandmother has just taken a turn for the worst with her battle with cancer. While going to the doctors because she has a loss of equilibrium she's given the news that they now found brain cancer... and lots of it. This is just to much all at once. So I'm at home sitting in the cold all alone because i'm to depressed to go out with the family. I hate days like this.

Feeling Like Crunch Time...

So times flying and I'm starting to feel like I need to rush around to get my trip planned out. In the amidst of everything I think I'm switching up my plans. I think i'm going to fly into Delhi and visit the Taj Mahal that is located in Agra. Hopefully have enough time in New Delhi to explore the city. Sunitha has family in Delhi she thinks will be able to pick me up and show me around for free. Then I want to travel the the state of Regjastan to the city of JaiPur. This state is where Amit's feiance is from and the city if full of palaces to be seen! With any hope Amit's soon to be in laws will take me in and show me around. From there i will travel to Amit's state of Mahastra and city of Pune.
I have been looking around the internet for some rock climbing location in India because it's somthing I'm interested in trying. I have found a "Climb" or "Route" called "Grigri route climb".
